The Clock Tower and Paltan Bazaar are the busy old centre; the railway station and the ISBT bus terminal sit to the south-west; the Rajpur Road runs north-east towards Rajpur and the road up to Mussoorie, with many of the cafes, restaurants and boutique stays. Sahastradhara Road and the Mussoorie Road foothills are greener and quieter, with villas, resorts and homestays; the Chakrata Road and the Haridwar Road are practical bases for the highway, and Jolly Grant airport is on the Rishikesh side. For a short trip, stay near the Rajpur Road or the Clock Tower; for a quiet one, go towards Sahastradhara or Malsi.
