Sahastradhara Road and the Mussoorie Road foothills are greener and quieter, with villas, resorts and homestays; the Chakrata Road and the Haridwar Road are practical bases for the highway, and Jolly Grant airport is on the Rishikesh side. For a short trip, stay near the Rajpur Road or the Clock Tower; for a quiet one, go towards Sahastradhara or Malsi.
