The Mall Road between Library Chowk and Kulri is the lively centre, with shops, cafes and the evening walk; Library Chowk and Charleville, at the western end, are older and a little calmer; Camel's Back Road and Gun Hill are for slow evening strolls; Landour and Char Dukan, to the east, are quieter, with old cottages and bakeries; Barlowganj and Jharipani sit on the slopes below; and the Kempty Road runs out towards Kempty Falls, with many of the resorts and views. On busy weekends and holidays the Mall Road area gets crowded, so ask your stay how far a car can go and how much of the way is on foot.
